The Raja Saab's Box Office Performance: A Mixed Bag
The Prabhas-starrer film The Raja Saab has had a somewhat tumultuous journey at the box office, with some gains and losses along the way. On Day 6, it managed to collect approximately Rs. 5.75 crore, a slight improvement from the previous day, but still not enough to save its fate. The film's performance in India has been a rollercoaster, with a total collection of Rs. 131 crore, and it might just reach the Rs. 150 crore mark, which is a far cry from the Rs. 200 crore target.
However, the international market has been a different story. The film has already grossed approximately Rs. 32 crore (USD 3.55 million) overseas, bringing the worldwide total to a respectable Rs. 163 crore. This is a significant achievement, especially considering the film's high production costs, which are rumored to be north of Rs. 400 crore. The theatrical revenue has been a lifeline, but with non-theatrical revenue streams drying up, the film's recovery is still uncertain.
The territorial breakdown reveals some interesting insights. The Telugu states, AP/TS, Nizam, Ceded, Andhra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu/Kerala, and the Rest of India have all contributed to the film's success, with the Telugu states being the biggest contributors. The United States and the Rest of the World have also shown some interest, with collections of USD 2,150,000 and USD 1,400,000, respectively.
Despite the mixed reception and ordinary opening, The Raja Saab has managed to gather a worldwide total of Rs. 163 crore. However, the film's high costs and potential losses of over Rs. 200 crore make it a cautionary tale for Indian cinema. The question remains: can Prabhas' charm and comic timing save the day, or is it too little too late?
